This policy is a working draft prepared for launch. It must be reviewed by a qualified adviser and updated with confirmed business details before the site goes live.
These terms apply when you ask MADE Studio ("we", "us") for a quote and when you accept one. Business details are shown in the footer of every page.
1. Enquiries and quotes
- An enquiry is not an order. We review every request for feasibility, safety and intellectual property before quoting.
- Each quote itemises design, manufacturing, finishing, delivery and VAT, and states its validity period, scope, assumptions and lead time.
- A contract is formed only when you accept a quote in writing and, where requested, pay the deposit or full amount through our secure payment link.
- We may decline any request, including safety-critical, regulated or potentially infringing work.
2. Your files and information
- You confirm that you own, or have permission to have manufactured, every design, image and file you send us, and that our making it will not infringe anyone's rights.
- STL and similar files carry no units or tolerances. Where we have to interpret them, we'll state our assumptions in the quote.
- We keep your files confidential and use them only to deliver your order. We will not use them or photos of your parts in marketing without your explicit written permission.
3. Design services
- The quote defines deliverables, file formats and the number of revision rounds included. Further changes are quoted before we do them.
- Nothing is manufactured until you approve the design in writing.
- Ownership, licensing and confidentiality of design files are set out in the accepted quote. Unless the quote says otherwise, once paid in full you may use the final design files for the purpose described in your brief, and we keep the right to reuse general know-how but not your specific design.
4. Manufacturing and fitness for purpose
- 3D-printed parts show layer lines and small dimensional variation. Tolerances and finish are as stated in the quote.
- We make parts to the specification and intended use you describe. We do not certify parts for safety-critical or regulated applications, and you must not use them for such purposes.
- If you change the use or environment from what you told us, the part may not be suitable.
5. Prices and payment
- Prices are in pounds sterling. VAT is shown separately where it applies.
- We take payment only through a reputable hosted checkout or payment link. We never ask for card details by email or phone.
- Design work may require a deposit before it starts. Manufacturing usually requires payment before production.
6. Delivery, faults and your rights
See Shipping & delivery and Cancellations & returns. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
7. Liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. For business customers, our total liability is limited to the price paid for the relevant order, except where the law does not allow this.
8. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers living elsewhere in the UK may also bring proceedings in their local courts.
